Koparo, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand specialising in sustainable home and personal hygiene products, has raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Saama Capital.

The round also attracted participation from Fluid Ventures and Singapore-based M Venture Partners, besides notable angels Rajesh Sawhney (Founder and CEO of GSF Accelerator), Sridhar Sankararaman (Multiples PE), and Ramesh Menon (formerly of Future Group and Hypercity).

Existing investor DSG Consumer Partners also joined.

The capital will be strategically allocated to support Koparo’s offline expansion, enhance brand visibility, and foster product innovation.

The company claims its revenues have grown 10x since its last funding round.

Last year, it secured $750,000 in a seed round from Saama Capital and DSG Capital.

Koparo offers a diverse portfolio of more than 15 products and 30+ stock keeping units (SKUs) across various categories, including core cleaning, speciality cleaning, and accessories.

The products are available for purchase through its website, e-commerce platforms and 70 stores operated by Reliance Retail and Modern Bazaar.

With the increasing demand for hygiene products, Koparo has plans to introduce new variants of its best-selling products, develop a range of speciality cleaners tailored to the needs of modern Indian households, and launch complementary kitchen and home cleaning accessories.

The company also aims to strengthen further its presence in the laundry sector, the largest sub-category within home cleaning, and intends to release more pet-friendly products. Recently, Koparo unveiled a kennel wash for pet homes and a selection of cleaning accessories such as biodegradable sponge wipes and microfiber-dusting cloths designed for modern homes.
