Provide insights on field trial monitoring, production fields monitoring, disease tolerance analysis, pest resistance analysis and hybrid performance comparison

Agdhi, an agritech start-up has introduced a mobile platform ‘Planto’ that provides data analysis and provides accurate information on the maximum agricultural output. It generates insights out of raw field data and further used for field trial monitoring, production fields monitoring, disease tolerance analysis, pest resistance analysis, hybrid performance comparison, team management, Report generation and Digitisation. This vast information can be available in different languages such as English, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, and Tamil.

Speaking on this occasion, Nikhil Das, Founder– Agdhi, said, “We are pleased to introduce new tool which will help the agricultural companies as well as farmers with new insights about crop & seedlings. This will help the farmers to take remedial and the future action.”

He added that with integrating various languages, we would like to extend this tool to different cities who can take advantage and help them in maximizing agricultural output

Agdhi has built Two App versions – ‘Surveyor’ and ‘Manager’ applications which collects and generates insights respectively.

  • Planto Surveyor can be connected to any Planto registered company and is used to collect observations direct from field. It supports various data collection formats, crops and locations. The biggest advantage of Surveyor is that it can be used even when there is irregular or no network at all..
  • Planto manager comes with all the reports and analysis required for any Manager or decision makers to perform strategic changes in their research or production. It provides real time data of ‘who’s in the field’ and ‘what’s going on’. Thus, the supervisors, managers, directors and owners is provided with a transparent view of the activities and insights and meaningful reports to take quick decisive actions.

The entire platform is available to subscribe in various plans suited for different types and scales of organization

Lyfas has been developed by a startup, Acculi Labs in association with the Union government’s CAWACH (Centre for Augmenting WAR with Covid-19 Health Crisis) initiative.

An IT company in Bengaluru has developed an application capable of capturing an individual’s vital health statistics through mobile phone. According to the ministry of science and technology, it will determine an individual’s proneness to Covid-19 infection and can potentially play a vital role in early detection of the disease and risk assessment of the infected population.

This application creates an individual’s Covid risk assessment profile called Lyfas Covid score. Lyfas is different from AarogyaSetu which works by contract tracing and requires an individual to feed symptoms. But this is a proper medical screening test which purely depends upon test results.

Lyfas has been developed by a startup, Acculi Labs in association with the Union government’s CAWACH (Centre for Augmenting WAR with Covid-19 Health Crisis) initiative.

This new medical screening technology has the potential to detect possible infection in an asymptomatic individual which in turn helps to prioritise the conventional testing queue as well as in risk assessment of those individuals to establish if they can become symptomatic apart from assistance in risk assessment for recovery.

Generation of Lyfas Covid score has been achieved through repurposing Lyfas; a clinical-grade, non-invasive, digital functional biomarker smartphone tool for screening, early detection, root cause analysis, acute event risk assessment, prognosis, and home monitoring of chronic diseases.

A statement from the Science and Technology department, Government of India says “Lyfas is an Android application in which, when one keeps the index finger on the rear camera of a mobile phone for 5 minutes, captures the capillary pulse and blood volume change and derives 95 biomarkers with proprietary algorithms and signal processing techniques. It uses the power of smartphone processors and smartphone sensors to capture a bunch of body signals.”

The captured signals are then processed on the principle of Photoplethysmography(PPG), Photo Chromatography(PCG), Arterial Photoplethysmography(APPG), mobile spirometry, and Pulse Rate Variability(PRV).

The statement added “Lyfas then provides cardio-respiratory, cardio-vascular, haematology, hemorheology, neurology based parameters that are capable of tracking minute pathophysiological changes in the body. These changes are further profiled into organ system-wide response.”

The accuracy of this technology has been proved to 92%, specificity of 90% and sensitivity of 92% according to a study conducted with Medanta Medicity Hospital.

The government statement also says “Witnessing the success of the study, the Medanta ethics committee has approved it for a larger population study. This study is currently registered in Clinical Trials Registry- India (CTRI) and is acknowledged by the World Health Organisation (WHO).”

CAWACH is supporting market-ready innovations for control of Covid-19 and startup ideas to address associated challenges. Acculi Labs was selected after several rounds of screening for a solution towards mass screening.

Lyfas has received a grant of Rs 30 Lakh from DST and is now virtually supported by IIT Madras, Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre (HTIC), MedTech Incubator.

The clinical trials and regulatory proceedings for Lyfas Covid Score are expected to be completed by the end of September, after which the testing facility will be made public.

Bangalore-based mobile health and fitness app HealthifyMe has secured US$1 million in additional financing from Neelesh Bhatnagar, founder of NB Ventures. This comes six months after the startup received $6 million from IDG, Inventus Capital and Blume Ventures.

The company will utilise the funds to hire top talent and enhance the product and technology.

HealthifyMe

As per a statement, the app has hit one million downloads in Google Play Store.

HealthifyMe was co-founded in 2012 by Tushar Vashisht, Sachin Shenoy and Mathew Cherian. It is a  mobile health/fitness company that delivers measurable results on eating habits, fitness, and weight.

It works with corporates and healthcare partners in India. The app has one million users with over 150 coaches.

HealthifyM was accelerated by Microsoft Accelerator. With over 200 employees, HealthifyMe is present in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, besides Bangalore.

Tushar Vashish, Co-founder and CEO, HealthifyMe, said: “Hitting 1 million users is a great validation since most of the growth has happened organically. To me, our 4.3 rating matters a lot more as it speaks of how much our customers believe in us. I hope we sustain this momentum by crossing 10 million downloads in the next 18 months.”

International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has invested an undisclosed sum in Indian EduTech company Byju’s, according to a press statement.

This partnership will enable Byju’s to further its plans to make education accessible for students across India and in international markets.

“Today, almost 70 per cent of our users come from outside the top 10 cities,” said Raveendran. “It is encouraging to see increased adoption from 1,700-plus towns and cities in the country, but there is still a long way to go before we call this a learning revolution. To further accelerate our reach in the deeper parts of India, we are planning to add channel partners across the country.”

The bangalore-based star up has earlier raised $50 million, co-led by Sequoia Capital and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a fund launched by Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg and Dr. Priscilla Chan. This was preceded by a $75 million financing from Sequoia and Belgium-based Sofina in March this year. This is the largest ever funding raised by an Indian EduTech company to date.

Byju's-App1-StartagistThe startup was established by Byju Raveendran in 2011. Its app offers learning programmes that are engaging for class 6-12 and test preparations for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, CAT, IAS, GRE and GMAT. Its learning approach combines teachers, proven pedagogical methods, data science and machine learning to deliver personalised instruction, feedback and assessment for each student.

Byju’s has registered 7 million downloads and has 330,000 annual paid subscriptions so far.

Ruchira Shukla, Regional Lead, Venture Capital Investments at IFC, said: “IFC’s venture capital strategy in the EduTech space is focused on technology enabled learning platforms for academic improvement, skill development platforms as well as supplemental and low cost education solutions. Byju’s is the market leader in the 4-12 segment offering engaging content and building concept clarity by identifying and addressing students’ learning gaps.”

India has the largest K-12 education system in the world with over 260 million enrolments, and is estimated to grow by 30 per cent by 2022.
