Noida-based student hostel startup Your-Space.in raises $500,000 in funding

Your-Space looks to expand its hostel services beyond Noida using the capital, and launch an exclusive facility for female students

For students in India enrolling enrolling into a university in India, it is hard to find cost-effective hostels. No property owners in Indian cities are willing to give rented rooms to students as they fear they would create problems for their neighbours.

Noida-based Your-Space.in aims to address this issue efficiently. The startup has set up a hostel in the Noida area for new students to provide an accommodation. The company has just secured $500,000 in angel funding from a group of unnamed High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs) in India and abroad.

Investors who joined the investment round included people from leading financial institutions, real estate and hospitality sectors.

Your-space was founded by Shubha Lal, Karan Kaushish and Nidhi Kumra, all of them earlier worked in the banking sector in London. Its hostel has a gym, a lounge, indoors games, a cafe, doctor on call, yoga, beauty services, reading room, a tuck shop, vending machine, movie nights, high speed free wi-fi, music and dance classes, a business centre with printer facility, electronic security, and career counselling.

Your-Space also plans to launch an exclusive female students hostel.

Over 80 per cent of students securing a college admission are looking for accommodation outside campus hostels.
